Materials for environment protection

Several groups in the Faculty work on investigation and modeling of functional materials for environmental applications, in particular directed to prevention, reduction, detection or sequestration/removal of environmental pollutions.

The activities for prevention or reduction of pollutions are related to development or modification of production/synthesis routes with low amount of pollutions, investigation of systems for biodegradable materials for packing.

The activities for development of materials for detection or sequestration/removal of environmental pollutions are directed to materials for sensor applications, materials for photodegradation of organic impurities in water or in the air, and investigation of adsorbents for air pollutants or catalysts for their decomposition.
