l’École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles, Paris, France

ESPCI ParisTech consists in 18 high-profile laboratories advancing scientific knowledge and pioneering technical know-how in a variety of research areas, ranging from polymers to telecommunications, from nanobiophysics to organic synthesis, from environmental science to biomedical imaging, from neurobiology to microfluidics, from soft matter to quantum physics, from colloids to prototyping for industry.

Areas of common interest between ESPCI and the Faculty of Chemistry are the synthesis of polymer-based materials, e.g. water-soluble copolymers and water based formulation, hydrogels reinforcement (hybrid hydrogels and reinforcement by nanoparticle), and biocompatible alginate based hydrogels, and the understanding of their physical properties, the area of mineral materials and foams for thermal and noise insulation, the area of two-dimensional and multilayered colloid crystals with optical and photonic applications.
