Training Course “NMR spectroscopy – principles and applications” was held on the 16th of March 2015 at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University.
The course is within the FP7 project “BeyondEverest” and is related to the new NMR equipment acquired through the project.

Within the Project BeyondEverest Dr. Evgeni Kolev, Senior R&D Researcher, Universal Oil Products Ltd. (Honeywell), Des Plaines, Illinois, USA will present a lecture entitled: “Petrol, blood, air, sun and water: examples for commercialization of good ideas”.
The lecture will be held on 24.02.2015 at 16 h in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy.
Във връзка с изпълнението на Работната програма на проекта “BeyondEverest”, от 11 до 14 декември в хотел “Акватоник”, гр. Велинград ще се проведе Работна среща “Applied research on Functional materials”, целяща представянето на приложни изследвания и разработки на учени от Факултета по химия и фармация на СУ”Св. Кл. Охридски”. Работният език на срещата е български.
За пътуването до Велинград има осигурен автобус, който ще потегли на 11.12.2014 год. от Факултета по химия и фармация в 9.30 часа сутринта. В обратна посока, от Велинград за София, автобусът ще потегли от хотела на 14.12.2014 год. в 13.30 часа. Участниците в срещата, които желаят да пътуват с личните си автомобили, трябва да представят фактури с датите на събитието, които ще им бъдат осребрени.

2nd international conference “Advanced Functional Materials” organized within the FP7 Project “BeyondEverest” will take place from 3rd to 6th of September, 2014 at the Melia hotel, Nessebar.

Seminar „Fundamental and applied research, innovations and commercialization of the scientific results” was organized within the FP7 Project “BeyondEverest” of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University. The Seminar took place at Hotel Radisson Blu on July 24th, 2014. The agenda of the Seminar could be found here. Lecturers of the Seminar were Mrs. Sasha Bezuhanova, founder of the civil platform for democracy, public discussions and debates on the national policies for modern development of Bulgaria - MoveBG, Mrs. Elitsa Panayotova, Executive Director of Sofia Tech Park, Professor Plamen Atanassov, University of New Mexico, USA, Professor Simeon Stoyanov, Unilever R&D and Wageningen University, NL and University College London, UK, Professor Nikolai Denkov, Head of the Department on Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University, etc.
The lecturers shared their experience and views in innovations development as well as in the transfer of scientific generated knowledge into real application solutions. The seminar aimed to find ways for encouraging the innovations and innovative thinking in Bulgarian research institutions and particularly in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy as beneficent of the FP7 Project “BeyondEverest”.
2nd international conference “Advanced Functional Materials” will be organized within the FP7 Project “BeyondEverest”. The conference will take place from 3rd to 6th of September, 2014 at the Melia hotel, between Ravda and Nessebar.

At a conference aiming to present the Horizon2020 Programme of EU to the Bulgarian scientists that took place on 18 and 19 of February, 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Minister of Education and Science Mrs. Anelia Klisarova handed to Professor Tony Spassov, Coordinator of the Project “BeyondEverest”, an Award for the successful realization of FP7 funded projects (“Everest” and “BeyondEverest”).

Professor Spassov thanked for the Award and said that both EU funded projects coordinated by him aimed to further develop the research capacity of Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy and by funding them the EU acknowledge that the Bulgarian scientist have the capacity to reach scientific excellence but the joint efforts of both Bulgarian governemnt and the Bulgarians scientists are needed to fulfill this milestone.
At the conference took participation also Mr. Wolfgang Burtscher, Deputy Director General DG Research and Innovation.
